Catherine

Catherine is a young Animal Health Technician who knew from a young age that she wanted to work with animals.

After completing her secondary studies, she immediately enrolled at Lionel-Groulx College to pursue a diploma in Animal Health Techniques, graduating in June 2014. Additionally, she earned a bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences with a specialization in the environment from the University of Montreal in June 2017. She also completed a micro-program in higher education by May 2018. Clearly, she is a dedicated and passionate learner. Furthermore, she has been certified by ATSAQ since the fall of 2018, adding even more expertise to her skill set!

Catherine is an accomplished technician thanks to her various professional experiences, as well as her internships. She first coached a football team for 7-year-old girls from the town of Boisbriand during the 2010 summer season. With patience, rigor and perseverance, she was able to sow new interest among these young girls, as they were just beginning to learn the sport. She also worked as a consultant in a Sports Experts store from May 2012 to May 2014. This allowed her to demonstrate integrity and consistency, in addition to staying informed about the different products so that customers benefit from better customer service.

Catherine completed two internships during her technical studies to further enhance her training as an AHT. Her first internship took place from March to April 2014 at the Basses-Laurentides Veterinary Clinic, marking her first experience in a veterinary clinic. Her second internship was with GREMEQ (Quebec Equine Medicine Research Group), where she had the opportunity to work with equine species. During this internship, she gained valuable insights into the respiratory and musculoskeletal systems of horses and conducted research on equine pulmonary inflammatory conditions. While Catherine loves all animals, she has developed a special connection with horses and regularly practices western riding, which is one of her main hobbies.

Catherine is an excellent technician due to her passion for animals, her diligence, attention to detail, and her exceptional customer service. She is a young woman well-liked by both her colleagues and clients, thanks to her approachability, good humor, and quick integration into the team. You’ll be greeted by her radiant smile and warm welcome. Her professionalism and big heart make her an outstanding colleague. We are incredibly lucky to have her on our team since August 2015!
